I have been on this drug for 4 months. My liver function hasn't changed. It's the same liver that's always been. So far, I'm a bit worried about not being able to make any more. I am on Crestor for a year. It's not as bad as it's been. I'm just wondering if anyone has experience with the drug being used to manage symptoms. What are the benefits and risks?

My liver function has improved a lot and I am very satisfied with that. I have a new cholesterol level and that is going to help with my symptoms. I have taken the generic version. But then I have a new cholesterol level and I am not as good as I was at the start. I have lost all of my energy. I have been on Crestor for 2 weeks. I am so worried about not being able to do anything. I have had an infection, but my liver is so weak that it's not going to be as good. I am going to try something new. I will be off of Crestor and hope this helps. Thank you.

I took the generic Crestor for a year and it was amazing. I was so concerned about not being able to make any more. I have had a new cholesterol level and I am still worried about not being able to make any more. I have taken the generic Crestor for years. I've not had a problem. The first time I tried this the side effects were the same. I also took the generic version for several months. The side effects were not as bad as they were at first. I'm so hopeful that it will be a better medicine.

I will be off Crestor and hope this helps.

I was so worried about not being able to make any more.

Crestor works by reducing a certain enzyme within the body that produces cholesterol. It belongs to a class of medications called statins.

Cholesterol is a form of lipid, a waxy substance that helps your body make cells, vitamins, and certain hormones. It is not inherently bad. Your liver produces an enzyme that synthesizes cholesterol to help with the above healthy functions. Additional cholesterol is introduced to the body through certain foods like meat, poultry, and dairy products.

There are two types of cholesterol: high-density lipoproteins (HDLs) and low-density lipoproteins (LDLs). LDLs carry cholesterol throughout the body, delivering cholesterol to cells that need it. HDLs carry excess LDLs back to the liver, where they are broken down and flushed from the body. While LDLs play a key role in cell health, they build up when the body has more cholesterol than the cells need. This buildup turns into plaque in the arteries (blood vessels). As plaque covers the artery walls, the blood vessels become narrow. This makes it harder for blood to flow through the body, which can lead to heart disease and heart failure.

Statins work by reducing the production of cholesterol in the liver, which lowers the overall cholesterol levels in the body. Not only do statins decrease levels of LDLs in the body, but they can also raise the level of HDLs in the body. In effect, they keep the body from making too much of the “bad” cholesterol that builds up in arteries while increasing the amount of “good” cholesterol that carries the “bad” out of the body. This dual action has been shown, along with diet and exercise, to lower overall cholesterol levels in patients effectively.

Crestor (rosuvastatin) is used to treat cholesterol levels in patients with dyslipidemia (low levels of cholesterol) or other lipid disorders (low levels of cholesterol). In combination with diet and exercise, rosuvastatin can be used to help reduce elevated cholesterol levels (Type 2) in patients. Rosuvastatin is also used to treat high cholesterol in people with other iron-deficiency conditions. In people with liver disease, rosuvastatin is used to help reduce liver inflammation (steatosis). In addition to its use as a treatment for cholesterol levels (such as mild-to-severe high cholesterol or dyslipidemia), rosuvastatin is also used to treat medication related high blood pressure (such as chest pain or pressure). High blood pressure is a condition of chest pain that is characterized by the uncontrolled heart rate and the pressure in the blood vessels, both of which can lead to symptoms like chest pain in people with diabetes and other high blood pressure related conditions.

Oral or injectable cholesterol medications like Crestor can also be used to treat cholesterol levels, although this medication is not as common as cholesterol levels. In other words, the effectiveness of oral cholesterol medication can be tested before treatment is started. It is essential to discuss any treatment plan with your doctor before starting any cholesterol medication. Your doctor will help identify the type of care you are most likely to receive and monitor your progress closely.

When should patients not use Crestor?Read NextBy Terriestra Pry

The Lilly Foundation’s guidelines on the use of Crestor are based on clinical trials that have been performed on more than 10,000 patients. These trials have found Crestor to be very effective in lowering low-density lipoprotein (LDL) levels in these patients. In addition to lowering LDL levels, Crestor is also being studied as a treatment for hypercholesterolemia (high cholesterol) and for non-alcoholic fatty liver disease (NAFLD) in patients with familial hypercholesterolemia (high cholesterol). In the current guidelines, patients should take a multivitamin supplement with Crestor to help ensure adequate vitamin D and iron intake. Patients should take their dose of Crestor at least 6 hours apart from taking their other medications.

Crestor is not currently available over the counter. However, patients may still need to take it for up to 8 weeks. In addition to lowering LDL levels, Crestor is also being studied for non-alcoholic fatty liver disease (NAFLD) as a treatment for those with familial hypercholesterolemia (high cholesterol).

I recently had a patient come into the office and he was having a heart attack the next day. He was on Crestor and they decided it was worth a shot. He was on a high dose of rosuvastatin and he had to stop taking it. He has been on Lipitor for over 10 years now and it is now the only statin medication he is taking.

I was shocked and sad when my patient was diagnosed with heart attacks two years ago and they said it was statins and it wasn’t. I asked him why he had not told me. He said the statin was for his cholesterol. He said it was for the heart attack. He said it was because he didn’t know how to treat it.

He said he had been prescribed statins for his heart issues. He had had problems with them for many years. He said it was for his cholesterol. He said it was because he was suffering from it, and that he wasn’t taking any medicine for it. He said he had been taking statins for years and he had suffered from this and it was for his cholesterol. He said he was taking rosuvastatin and he was on it. He said he was on a low dose. He said it was because he was taking a low dose of rosuvastatin. He said it wasn’t statins. He said it was because he was taking a high dose of rosuvastatin.
